Certificate III Aboriginal Health Work (Clinical) CIII-AHWC

By the end of Certificate III Aboriginal Health Work (Clinical) course, students are expected to be able to:

  • have an overview of key areas of health work, the responsibilities of health workers, key people and outside agencies in addressing health issues;

  • possess the skills in providing clinical treatment, support and information to individuals, families and community members in relation to health;

    and

  • possess the skills to support community involvement in health outcomes. Graduates are qualified to register as Aboriginal Health Workers in the Northern Territory.


Entry requirements

Prospective students should normally be able to meet Batchelor Institute’s general admission requirements. In addition, participants will need workplace opportunities, this requiring clinic / health service provider agreements for clinical / health provision experience for the on the job requirements of the course. Competency units reflect workplace operations with a view to integrating training and assessment into normal workplace activities and conditions.
