Northern Territory University (NTU)

The Tertiary Enabling Program of the NTU gives students the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge they will need for successful achievements in tertiary studies. It is suitable for students who wish to enrol in study at a diploma or degree level but who have not completed school and/or lack the confidence to achieve academically. Successful completion of the program will allow students to meet the minimum entry requirements for most, Northern Territory University, TAFE Diplomas and Higher Education Bachelors Degrees. Students enrolling in the program full-time are eligible to apply for Austudy or Abstudy.

Students wishing to pursue pharmacy should contact the Rural Pharmacy Workforce Development Website and inquire about scholarship opportunities.

Aims of Program

  • To provide students with the skills necessary to successfully complete tertiary study;
  • To help students meet the admission requirements for NTU diplomas and degrees;
  • To develop student's confidence to undertake tertiary study;
  • To make students aware of the commitment needed for successful tertiary study;

Course Structure

The course can be attended either full-time or part-time commencing in either semester 1 or 2. An intensive program is run at the start of each year for academically advanced students.

Entry Requirements

Students enrolling in the Tertiary Enabling Program are expected to have completed Yr 10 or equivalent and should be over 18 years of age. Most students will be required to undertake an interview before gaining entry. Mature age students who do not have year 10 or equivalent are encouraged to discuss their enrolment with the course coordinator. Telephone (08) 8946 6079 for an appointment.
